Moving on isn't always bad.

When You Finally Realize You Need To Move On
Brianna MacDonald

Some people think you need to fall out of love to move on, but that is not always true. Moving on means, realizing you deserve better and you know that better is out there. Even if you do not want to believe it. With experience you feel like there is no one out there better, but you don't need to move on with another person. You can move on by just being with your girls or family.

What people don't understand is that moving on doesn't always mean leaving one person for the next. Everybody has different ways of moving on. Whether it's buying a dog, an animal in general, or even if you want to another person. Whatever you think is right, that's what you need to do.

Now, how do you know when to move on? When you get the feeling of not being worthy anymore or being wanted. That's when you should move on, now let's say this again. When you should move on, it doesn't mean you always will. Take it from me, I still haven't moved on from my ex and I'm completely okay with it. It's when you feel like it is the right time and the best time to finally move on. When you can't take anymore of the fights, lies, or anything. It's when it's the right time for you, not anyone else. When it is the right time for you to move on.

When you do decide to move on, it's the time to stop the I'm sorry's and I love you's. It's time to do everything for yourself and no one else. It's time for you to be happy and not make anyone else happy. It's time for you to love yourself and no one else stepping in the way of that. What I'm trying to get at, is it is time for you do everything for yourself and love yourself. It's time to finally realize your self-worth. Normally going through a heartbreak does that, you love the love for yourself and you just lose yourself completely.

You need to realize when it's time for you to move on. You need to realize what you can't take anymore and how much you can handle. After awhile, you learn to just accept it, but when is it enough for you? When is it time for you to do something for yourself and not worrying about anyone else? It's time for you to move on, even if it's the last thing to do. If you know you need to and you deserve better, then go get better. Whether it's by buying food or hanging out with friends. Go do you and move on. Here I'll say it again, move on and do you. You can still love them and be there for them, be there friend if you want. But do yourself a favor and realize it is time for you to move on. You will be happy with your decision in the end, even if you are miserable now. Remember, you need to realize when it's time to move on and go forward with you life. Don't always be stuck in the past.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
