A girl sits in her dorm room, sick (from bad food) when a dance is going on. It's Friday night and while almost every girl on campus is outside taking pictures in their prom dresses, she sits alone, sick. And the day before she realized her car battery died, so going somewhere is not an option.
Okay, that was a little dramatic, it really wasn't that bad, but sometimes college is hard. You will wish your parents were here many, many times. You will wonder why everyone seems to be in a relationship but you. And you will wonder what your future will be like and what you should do to get there.
Through all the drama, endless schoolwork, and surprises of everyday life, God is still in control. Through it all my eyes on are Him! Okay so I may not keep my eyes on Him all the time, but I pray everyday for me to be focused on Him and for Him to guide me and use me. So in this sick-filled and unglamorous Friday night, I will rejoice in Him and what He is doing!
I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithfulb one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:7-11
