Writer's block is the worst, especially when you have a deadline. There are times when I can't come up with something and it drives me crazy! It's hard to find inspiration sometimes. It's hard to figure out what to write, and then what to write about specifically when it comes to a paper, a blog, etc. Here are some ideas on topics, some inspiration for moving past writer's block and other ways to get your creative juices flowing.

1. Facebook/Social Media

Here's a good place to see what your audience likes. Look at the articles your friends and family share on social media to get a feel for what they want to see and what they think is important.

2. Current Events

If there's something going on in the world, be the first to tell your family and friends. Not everyone reads the news, we find things out on social media, nowadays. If you find out that a celebrity couple broke up or an update about a hurricane coming our way, write about it!

3. Music

Song lyrics that bring you back to a significant time in your life can be really inspirational for your writing. Even song titles are a great way to get some ideas popping in your head. Take time to listen to music, and if you focus on one lyric, you can turn that into a profound piece of writing.

4. Pictures

Look on Pinterest or Google some images to help get ideas going. A picture could lead to one thought, and those thoughts could lead to something great! Don't give up or feel discouraged if an idea doesn't feel right.

5. Titles

Look up other people's blogs and their titles and read their content to see what they write about and what's important to them. Titles could give you the inspiration for your own writing.

6. "Blog Ideas"

Pinterest and Google will give you great ideas on what to write about. If you search for "Blog Ideas" on a search engine, you can find different blogs, such as this, for ideas on what to write about.

7. Personal Story

Your story is your own so no one else can take that from you. It's your own version and your own experience of an event that occurred in your life, so the way you tell it is the best way to tell it. People love to hear personal stories if they can relate to a general point or something other people are experiencing. Your story can help others as well.

8. Journal

Always keep a pen and paper on hand in case inspiration strikes and you can write things down that come to mind.

Hopefully, these ideas and inspirations will help you get your creative juices flowing when it comes to writing blogs. Enjoy these ideas and keep searching for inspiration. It might come when you least expect it, so be prepared!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
