The word Disney always give me some magical feeling. I have always loved Disney and everything that comes with it. The theme park, movies, music and characters. Every Disney movie is beautifully put together and filled with powerful characters, quotes, and themes. I am nineteen years old and I still love Disney movies.
Some of these wonderful Disney quotes have stuck with me throughout the years. Some of these quotes are sad or happy, but that is Disney for you. It is always pulling at your heartstrings. Disney can make the most relatable quotes that you will remember throughout your life. You can, often times, hear me quoting multiple Disney movies. Many of these quotes come from my favorite Disney movies, but others are just great quotes. Here are my top ten Disney quotes:
1. Inside Out "Being Happy"
This movie was one of the first Disney movies in which I felt helped show real life issues well still being cute and entertaining. I know I always felt as though I had to be happy and I wasn't happy something was wrong with me. With Inside Out this idea changed because being sad, angry, fearful, or disgusted adds to our human complexity. Our emotions are a beautiful part of us and that being sad is not something you should cover up. I loved this movie as well and would recommend watching it not only for the entertainment, but the underlying themes.
2. Brave "Fate"
This whole movie has to do with Merida's fate. You always have a fate for yourself you just have to be willing to reach down and make that fate into reality. You should not mess with your fate though and try to change your life. Merida makes it a mission for her to control her fate rather than put it in the hand of others. I know I have been trying to do this recently too. I have wanted to make sure I am controlling my life rather than allowing for others to control me.
3. Lilo and Stitch "Everybody Leaves"
I love this quote because this is one of my biggest fears and issues....people always leaving. Lilo just wants to feel as though she is loved especially after losing her parents. I get this feeling of wanting someone to love her because I am the same. This movie deals with a different family dynamic because Lilo's older sister is trying to raise her now. I know that I related to Lilo when I was little as I was and still am very adventurous. How I relate to her now is this confusion with love and people leaving.
4. Finding Nemo "Always Another Way"
The idea of though Dory forgetting often she always has another idea is prominent throughout the movie. I try to take this mentality when I think I should just give up on something there is always another way for me to get it right. This will create a great mentality of being able to do anything you set your mind to. I have struggled with just going up when it is too hard, but after rewatching Finding Nemo I changed my mentality and always try a few different options before giving up.
5. The Incredibles "Never Look back"
This quote is just true for life. You should not focus so much on the past because you can't change that, but you can change the present. I know I struggle with always wanting to dwell on things that happened in the past, but recently I have been having a better time when I focus on the present. Living in the moment makes for more memorable moments and just overall has made me a more happy person.
6. Tarzan "Faith"
Tarzan is one of my favorite Disney movies especially this quote. This quote to me means that the things I care about most are the ones I should focus on and nurture the most. I have to have faith in myself and the things I love rather than always questioning which I know was a problem for me in the past. Tarzan is free and not afraid to be who he truly is which I think this quote embodies as well.
7. Zootopia "Limitations"
Life can be complicated. You can get knocked down multiple times before you get back up.I have realized that life can be unpredictable and it is not just some sweet and simple bumper sticker. I try and understand that life isn't always pretty and that is the hardest realization of them all. I am slowly learning that I need to embrace and make the best out of the hard times in my life. This quote exemplifies this as well.
8. Frozen "Worth Melting For"
First off I am the human version of Olaf. This quote just shows how deep and caring Olaf is. I try so hard to make sure my friends always know they can come to me with anything and that I care greatly about them. I would always put them before myself because they are all so special and kind as well. I hope that they each get all they want in life. This movie exemplifies selfless love and that is all i can aspire to be like and hope that my friends know that is how i see them.
9. The Little Mermaid "Children"
Sometimes you just have to wander to find yourself. You just go with the flow and have to have room to grow. I know my mom and dad always wanted to keep me close, but once I reached a certain age I had to gain some freedom to grow. This freedom has allowed me to figure out what I want to do, who I want to be, and how I want to live my life. I love The Little Mermaid and the adventurous side to this movie.
10. Aladdin "Similarities"
This quote is so insightful to life and just society today. I have always tended to notice difference before similarities, but when really thinking about it we are all so similar and that should be something that is celebrated. I have loved everyone that is different than me because they give me a different perspective on life which I can grow from and take with me. Aladdin was my favorite movie as a child as well.
Disney quotes help me explain my life and the way I feel about the world and some of my feelings. I look for a meaningful quote in Disney because they have always been a source of inspiration for me.
