When Will MUSE Get Its Act Together?

A question all Odyssey Creators are asking.

Never.

Just kidding. But that's how it feels lately as a creator for Odyssey. Over the past couple of months, the MUSE dashboards have been relatively useless for some of us. Views are not being calculated correctly or in a relatively quick time frame. At one point I had six articles with zero views, but they also had social engagements, meaning they were being viewed. That means that for six weeks, I had no idea how my articles were doing or if people were enjoying my content. We've been told that Odyssey Headquarters is working on it, but there has been very little help for the problem. I'm sure Odyssey knows this already, but for me, not having my view count available and accurate DRASTICALLY affects how much I am willing to share my articles. This is purely because I thrive off of instant gratification (#MillenialProbs.) If I can't see if my sharing is helping my views, I'm significantly less likely to share because why would I do something that isn't going to benefit me?

It's not just about view counts either, creating an article on MUSE is the bane of my existence. Articles don't get saved, things get deleted, and don't even try to add any piece of media into your article. This week I had a totally different plan for my piece. In order to make what I wanted I needed to use multiple different headings, photos and hyperlinks. However, I got too frustrated trying to just type the article that I decided to write this one instead. Also, MUSE is supposed to work better on Google Chrome as well, this is not the case. It seems to work just as bad as on Safari.

Odyssey is my creative outlet at this point in time and it irritates me to no end that I can't properly use the program required to put out my content. I hope this problem can be fixed soon

P.S. Can Odyssey get a dang app already? It's 2017, do better.

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right? I mean I went through four years of tough classes and serious self-searching (and crying). What I found overall was Senioritis sneaking up on me.

You might not see them everyday anymore, but you're still friends and your text messages prove it.

It takes a little while to get used to not seeing your high school best friends every day. Going away to college causes a lot of changes, but one thing that will never change is my love for my high school BFFs, and the texts that I get from them. Here are just 8 of the texts I get from them on the weekly:

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
