Why is violence ok? Why does the news only report the awful side of society and never the good? Why do we let this violence happen? Why do we let murders get away with taking another’s life? When will we stop sitting back and let violence and destruction run rampant in our society?
Wake up. If you are at all hurt or shocked by the recent events in Las Vegas, please realize you are doing nothing by remaining silent. Please voice your opinion. Please let people know how it makes you feel. This kind of violence has been happening for years and nothing seems like it is going to change, if anything it is only going to get worse. You can restrict gun control all you want but somehow, someway, that would-be killer is going to figure out how to hurt people. How many more people have to suffer before America wakes up?
Why do we fight violence with violence? If someone could please come forward and explain to me how rioting solves anything, go right ahead. Please tell me how stealing and damaging property gets rid of corrupt police. Please tell me how beating someone senseless brings a life back. Violence doesn’t end with more violence.
Why have we lost our way? This past decade has had so many events that should have brought us closer, but with each passing tragedy, it feels as if we are pulling farther and farther apart. Instead of standing together in moments of need, we react harshly and recklessly. Our string of violence will never end.
The world needs more love. Why can’t we see all the bloodshed and tears and realize we need each other more than anything? Maybe instead of valuing material possessions we should value having each other. You never will realize how much someone means to you until they are no longer with you. Cherish your friendships and relationships while you have them, they can be taken away as fast as they are made. Stay strong in this time of mourning, for both the Las Vegas victims and for any loved ones you have lost recently, smile more friends.
