People often wonder how to cope with unforeseen circumstances, how to move forward, how not to fall apart. How do you deal with horrible news? well, You don’t. You just deal with yourself. The hardest part of any situation, for me anyway, is admitting to myself that it’s happening and that it’s okay not to be okay. The world is an overwhelming place, and it will consume and crush you if you let it.

Recently I received some news and the best way to describe how i’m feeling is destroyed. I am destroyed. Having to not only process this information, but having to come to terms with it can seem all too much when looked at from the outside. In a situation where the world is attacking you, it’s best to look at it from the inside, so you can tackle one piece at a time without everything coming at you at once.

First steps first, take a step back. You’re going to need to give yourself some room if you trip or even fall on your journey, but that's okay because sometimes the ground is a more comforting place to be than standing on your own in the open.

Secondly, DO NOT face things alone. Sometimes the hardest thing we can do is let other people be there for us. You have chosen specific people to be a part of your life for a reason, let them hold your hand ( hypothetically or they can actually hold it, your choice). You will see your friends true colors come out; some will be the most beautiful color you’ve ever seen, and others will be s*** brown, but hey, that happens. You do not need those people surrounding you in your difficult times anyway. Better to figure it out sooner than later.

Third, Make a game-plan. Being a victim of a circumstance is a choice. You can choose to let it conquer you mind body and soul, or you can stand up and push through like the little soldier you are. There is no magical fix to any situation and healing can take a while-- let it happen. Whatever it is you’re going through will help you to grow as an individual if you let it. So let it will ya?

Most important of all, love yourself through it all. You may or may not have had a role in your situation, whatever the case just know you are just hitting a bump in the road on becoming the person you’re meant to be. You can use your situation to grow. Let this hard time guide you: You can decide how to respond and how tough you are. You can do this. you just have to believe in yourself.

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.

College students, you might be able to relate to this one. These probably sound familiar because we often tell ourselves these phrases; however, we are unable to follow or agree with these the following, deep down inside of our overwhelmed, tired minds.

1. "No more spending money on useless things"

Until you walk into a 99 cents store and suddenly have the urge to pick up anything that's less than a dollar.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.
