Sometimes, bad things happen and you have no way of understanding them. You look at an obstacle that has been thrown in your path and are forced to reconcile with things that you hadn’t planned on.
With uncertainty on many fronts, you remember the importance of family. If this accident involves family, you drop everything and travel to be with your loved ones. You feel the need to reach out to all those that you care about, and remind them how important they are to you.
You may feel the overwhelming support and love of those in your inner circle. You feel warmth and care in every hug, smile and prayer. You grapple with what’s happened internally and are shocked as the people around you are full of support and care as they check in on you and make sure you’re still okay.
You feel overwhelmed by the kindness of those you didn’t realize care about you. It might just be a text, a kind word or even an extension of a deadline, but these little gestures make all the difference. They show you that the rest of the world wants you to be OK.
You know that someone is watching over your shoulder, because as bad as things are; they could have been worse. Whether you have a denominational religion, are spiritual, or have an angel looking out for you, you look up and say thank you.
Sometimes, when something really bad happens you start crying a little because you’re overwhelmed by the goodness you see in the world.
