If you're about 20, you have a firm grasp on what Craigslist is all about. If you don't, well shopping on Craigslist is basically online shopping, but for more home-based items than clothes or accessories. I go on there probably almost every day in a week looking for new items I can buy. And I not only buy things, but I'm a frequent seller on as well. So, with that I have compiled this list of all the emotions I go through daily being a Craigslist seller and buyer.
1. Anxiety
When you're putting anything up for sale, or even trying to make an offer, one can get mighty anxious waiting for a response. What if they already sold it? What if they don't accept my offer? What if they can't match the price I'm asking? What if this doesn't go through? The internet is a tricky place to make transactions, one can never be too cautious.
2. Doubt
This one can go hand in hand with anxiety really. You never know who you're truly dealing with over the internet, so you have to always be doubtful. Plus, you never want to get your hopes up on a deal that could fall through at any moment, so doubt is basically a big part of the Craigslist game.
3. Happiness
When all that doubt and anxiety goes away and you strike a real deal. Words can't express the feeling one gets when they finally are able to make concrete plans with a seller or buyer. When someone tells me they'll actually be coming by to look at my item, or if they tell me they are coming with a cashier's check? Well, it may as well be Christmas morning.
4. Fear
You're extremely happy the deal has been made, but the anxiety rolls back in with it and then settles as fear deep in you. This person could be a total fraud, I may drive all the way there just to have the machine be broken or busted. What if I purchase this thing and it breaks in two days?!
5. Excitement
I got the bike! The bike works! Look at me and my new toy, people! I'm basically king of the world. Nothing can stop me, I'm gonna ride this baby until the cows come home. This is the end of my cycle, and thankfully, it ended on a good note.
