"True strength is smiling when you want to cry, laughing to hide the pain, and going on no matter what."

***************

We all have those days.

Ya know, the ones where absolutely NOTHING seems to go right.

Well, let me tell you some pretty awesome news: those days do not last forever.

That is the thing about this world, everything is temporary. All pain is temporary, it does not have to last forever. Every hardship does not last forever, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I think that is pretty great, considering everything that goes on in this world.

Honestly, I have had my fair share of those days. I remember sitting down on my bed and just wondering when my life would be "better" again. I wanted to know when I would be happy again.

I figured out that when I was having those type of days, if I would just sit down and pray to God for help and peace of mind, that these days would end rather quickly. God always has come through for me. He made me realize that these days, in fact, do not last forever.

I wanted to write this to tell everyone, that the key to getting through rough days is this exactly: keeping your eyes, mind, and heart focused on the one who created them. (That would be God, by the way)

God puts you through all of these tough times for a purpose and he wants you to push through. He wants you to persevere. Personally, I know that God allows me to have these tough days to test my trust in Him. I have mentioned this before, but I have this issue with trusting God all the time and I am working on it. So I feel like God gives me these tests on trust to remind me that I do need to trust Him to get through. The good thing about all of our tough days or tests that God gives us, He never gives us something that we cannot handle with His help. His objective is never to break us or tear us down. He only wants to make our trust in Him stronger and make our relationship with Him grow.

He wants you to smile when you want to cry, laugh to hide the pain, and overall go on. You CAN and WILL get through it. I promise you that. Never give up, ever. Trust God. Look to Him and He will direct your paths.

It's okay to be weak, but don't give up.

But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, power is perfected in weakness." Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may reside in me. So I take please in weaknesses, insults, catastrophes, persecutions, and in pressures, because of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
