When You Lose A Dog

The Hurt In Your Heart

When You Lose A Dog

When you lose a dog you don't expect it to hurt as bad as it really does, but they have become family to you. Coming home seeing they aren't there anymore makes your heart hurt more than you could ever believe. Everyone says that it doesn't hurt as bad when you don't have them very long and they are completely wrong.

When you become a dog owner they pretty much become your child. No matter how old they are it hurts you to the core. What also hurts is when someone says that you could always go get another dog. No matter how many dogs you look through, none are going to have the same personality and connection with your family.

Our dog just passed away two days ago and I know first hand how bad it can hurt. The house feels empty when we come home, and my daughter doesn't have her best friend to play with. Some dogs connect better with kids, and Bindi had everything I ever wanted in a dog to connect with my child.

Before you try to comfort someone about this situation please think about what you are going to say. If you have never lost a pet than you truly do not understand the ache they are feeling. Its like losing a member of your family that is there for you no matter how bad things get or how angry you can get at them. So while I mourn the loss of my sweet angel, please take these words to heart and love your dogs like tomorrow could be their last day.

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
