It’s the beginning of a new year. With resolutions and new goals in place, there is no room for error. The epitome of goals and success drive us to establish that this will be our year. But what if it doesn’t go according to plan?
When life throws you a curveball how do you handle it? Now this can be with your profession, relationships, health etc. Do you get discouraged and chuck all your resolutions with the thought that it is now mere impossible to maintain? Or do you put your chest out and power through. Life has its funny way of putting things into perspective and the number one rule to life is … that’s right… it’s timing. Timing can be a bitch but with timing comes struggles, opportunities and victories.
Allowing yourself to accept the curveball that’s been put in your path forces you to become you to choose how you will position yourself to success or strike out. After a recent set back I found that curveballs have a beautiful way of changing your life in a way that is positive and reassuring. You can get so consumed in the motion of life and pleasure that sometimes you loose your true meaning and values. This so called curveball that I experienced just a few days before the New Year altered my perspective and flipped my world upside down. It was until the past week that I realized the true beauty in it.
Sometimes you have to take a deep breath in and realize this is now the perfect opportunity for you to get back to your core. Start to be you again and focus on a positive mindset. Although it may be hard at times with uncertainty in the curveball you are experiencing, positive mindset is the best medicine.
My top three tips for tackling the curveball:
- Always go back to your core.
- Use your curveball as a way to recharge.
- There is power in the struggle. Adapt and make it a positive struggle.
Don’t let it set you back. Recharge, react and refocus your energy! Always remember that there is power in the struggle.
