Even when I am weak, He is strong. Sometimes, it feels like we are facing trial after trial and it begins to tear us down. We start to feel hopeless, fearful, lonely, and most importantly unloved. These are all feelings from Satan and they are NOT of Christ. Personally, one of my favorite ways to shake these feelings and be reminded of Christ's love is through worship. There is something so calming about worship music. Here are some of my favorite worship songs you can turn to in times of weakness and discourage. Not all of the songs I linked are from the original artist, however, these are versions I love. And always remember, Christ will never leave your side.

"No Longer Slaves" By Bethel

"I am no longer a slave to fear, I AM a child of God." Wow, let these words resinate with you and know how loved you are by your Father. This is my favorite worship song and tends to be such an easy one to relate to. We are all fearful of something in life. This song says that we no longer need to be chained to things we fear or our past.

"How Can It Be" By Lauren Daigle

There are many versions to this song, although this is not the original artist, I love her version. God truly is an overcomer. He walks the path we walk right alongside us and refuses to let us fail. This song is a great reminder that we are all sinners but the Lord frees us and helps us become all who He designed us to be.

"Forever" By Kari Jobe

This is another favorite of mine. Cry out these words to the Lord and allow yourself to open your heart to what this song is saying. God's love is perfect and His timing is ALWAYS perfect.

"This is Amazing Grace" By Phil Wickham

Some of the best worship music is upbeat and positive. This song is a great one to listen to in the mornings on the way to school or work to get pumped for the day. Look at each new day as a new way to love God and love His people.

"Good Good Father" By Christ Tomlin

We have a Heavenly Father who loves us more than we could ever imagine. He knows the deepest parts of our soul and still looks at us as the most perfect thing in the world. God IS so good y'all.

"Whom Shall I Fear" By Chris Tomlin

A great reminder that if Christ is with us, none can be against us. The enemy is real. The enemy may seem strong, but our God is stronger. People will always fail us. People will hurt us. And people will betray us. However, if we put our focus on Christ and put our faith in Him, He promises to deliver us from this evil and protect us.

These are just a few of my favorite worship songs. Each one of these songs speaks Christ's truth and promise to bring us comfort if we give our all to Christ. A quote I have in my apartment says, "when life gets too hard to stand, kneel." I keep this in the back of my head and when I feel like I am at rock bottom, I will kneel in prayer or worship to Christ and open my heart to be consumed by His love and grace.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
