I first met her when we were young,
She followed me around for the day,
I asked her what she thought of the school,
Where she wanted to go she could not say.
She asked tons of questions,
Her mouth agape at every sight,
Then she left as quickly as she came,
I promised her we'd stay tight.
Arriving in September,
She called me from her room,
I met parents and aunt as well,
We became close pretty soon.
The entire year I kept her under my wing,
But I never had a doubt,
This young lady had her wits about her,
She never missed a thing.
Soon she grew restless,
And yearned to learn more,
So she decided to transfer to a better school,
One that didn't make her snore.
Her last day was upon us,
Tears began to flow,
I knew I'd love her forever,
When I let my baby go.
