It seems that earlier and earlier every year we see Christmas decorations in stores, we hear Christmas songs on the radio and we see Christmas movies on TV, but when is the most acceptable time to see and hear these things? Now more than ever the topic of when it is acceptable to see Christmas decorations, listen to Christmas music and watch Christmas movies is argued. So when is an acceptable time?
Some would say that the day after Halloween is the appropriate time, others say that the day after Thanksgiving is the right time. For me, I listen to Christmas music year-round and watch movies all year. Some people don't like either at all and choose not to listen to music or watch movies.
It is November sixth and several of my Facebook friends have decorated their tree and put up decorations, which doesn't bother me because it's their house. If you are the person who would rather wait until December to start your Christmas festivities but your friend is like me and listens all year round, who cares? If you don't want to partake in the Christmas cheer too early, don't.
People who do partake don't judge you for waiting, so why are you judging us for listening "too early"?
There is no right or wrong time to listen to Christmas music; if you feel like listening all year, cool. If you don't like it at all, cool.
No matter what others think, it won't stop me from listening to Christmas music all year. To me, it's never too early to be cheerful.
Merry Christmas ya filthy animals.
