When God gives you a best friend, He basically gives you the other half of your heart. He gives you a person who will finish your sentences, laugh at your not so funny jokes, and tell you the ugly truths that you sometimes need to hear. When God gives you a best friend, he gives you a person to love and be loved by in return.
When God gives you a best friend, He gives you someone to stay up and talk to until 2 a.m. about your current life problems, even though it’s a weekday night and you both have to be up in a few hours for class. He gives you someone that you can somehow still be inseparable with at heart, even if you are separated by physical distance. He gives you someone to go on late night adventures with, even if that just means going to Walmart to make a fool of yourself. He gives you someone to eat way too many calories with (and don’t forget a dangerous amount of cookie dough). He gives you someone that you can build blanket forts with, eat chocolate chip pop-tarts and play Just Dance with (and have no shame at all).
When God gives you a best friend, he gives you someone to share books, music and shoes with. He gives you someone who will tell you that the shirt you picked out is actually ugly, and that you’re not as fat as you think you are. He gives you someone that sends you jokes throughout the day to make you laugh, and cute pictures of puppies to put a smile on your face.
Most importantly, when God gives you a best friend, He gives you someone that becomes more like your sibling. He gives you someone that loves you, encourages you, supports you and cherishes you. He gives you someone to lean on when things get hard, someone to wipe away your tears, someone to push you to keep going when you feel like giving up, and someone to motivate you to be the best you that you can be. When God gives you a best friend, He gives you someone that makes life so much better. I am so thankful God gave me my best friend.
