I feel like nowadays, Step parents do not get nearly enough credit for what they do. Taking a child that is not their own and loving AND raising them anyways takes a lot of guts and hard work. When I read another article in the same style of "When you give a mouse a cookie" I thought I would add my own twist to it. This one is for you, Kim!

When you give a girl a step Mom, the girl might not like her very much at first.

For years she read storybooks about the evil Step Mom and all the horrible things associated with her.

So, She might be jealous that her Dad has found his new half. That is the girl's Dad after all, her best friend.

When you give a girl a step Mom, the two may argue but quickly realize that you have more in common than you thought.

So the girl gives her a chance, after all what could the girl lose?

When you give a girl a Step Mom, she also gained another family. One's who love, cherish, and treat her like their own.

She's welcomed with open arms and has Aunts, Uncles, a Brother, and multiple new cousins she can depend on for help.

When you give a girl a Step Mom, you realize that she's your friend, not your enemy. She's there to support and love you, even when she doesn't have to.

She listens to you and prays for you every night, even when the girl no longer calls her every day.

When you give a girl a Step Mom, you realize she knew how hard it would be to raise a child who wasn't her own.

She will never give up on you, but never want to replace your Mother.

When you give a girl a Step Mom, she won't realize how lucky she is and how much she loves her until she is much older.

When a Step Mom gets a girl, she knew it wouldn't be hard work. After all, raising someone else's child is no easy task.

She knew that the girl was headstrong, much like her. However, she loved her anyways.

When you give a Step Mom a girl, all of her prayers and patience paid off. For years she thought what she had done for the girl was virtually unnoticed.

What she didn't know was it was noticed. The girl was just a teenager and took her kindness and compassion for granted like most teenagers do.

When you give a Step Mom a girl, she does so much more than cooking and cleaning. She diligently listens to the girl about boy problems. She wipes away her tears when she's sad.

But most importantly, when you give a Step Mom a girl, she beams with pride at what all the girl has accomplished. The scared little girl is no longer little. She's a strong confident young woman who knows her worth...

All because God gave her a Step Mom.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
