When all this is over...

Appreciate the little things.

103
When all this is over...

Times are hard right now. People are suffering, and trying to just make it by. Your world has stopped. You cannot go out without fear. You cannot see loved ones without fear. You cannot live without the sense of fear. The world seems so blue, but it doesn't have to be. When this is all said and done, we will appreciate the little things in life. We may even appreciate the things we once hated.

Here are a few things to appreciate more when this is over:

The Grocery store.

I know what you're thinking... how can someone really appreciate a store? I hope you appreciate the fully stocked shelves. I hope you notice how slow every one is walking. I hope you smile at that stranger. I wish you never fear touching a shopping cart. These are the small things I hope you appreciate.

Being with friends.

You may not realize how much you even needed that coffee date. You may not have noticed how much happier you were when you were surrounded by the people you love. You never realized how much a hug could mend your broken heart. I hope you appreciate those nights with no plans. These are the small things I hope you appreciate.

Your job.

You may miss those days when your feet hurt. What about that one morning person? Don't you miss wondering how they could smile at 6:00 a.m... You may miss the line of people waiting to checkout. I hope you hold onto your favorite coworker a little longer. These are the small things I hope you appreciate.

Your family.

I hope you never dread another Sunday dinner. I wish you always go play with your little brother. I hope you appreciate your mother's embrace. Please don't complain about going fishing with your dad. Always go see your grandparents. Make sure to wash those dishes, and cut that grass. These are the little things I hope you appreciate.

We don't know how much something means until we no longer have it.
Please, appreciate every little thing that you have... it can be taken at any moment.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.
