It's no secret that life can be overwhelming. Right now, with college move in day a couple of days away, my stress levels are pretty high. I really don't know where college gets its reputation, because it isn't easy. You can't just play your days away. Especially not if you're paying as much money as we are to get a degree. Some days it feels worth it. We all have days when we feel like we are on top of the world, and the sun is shining just for us. But this article isn't about those days.

You know what I'm talking about. When you woke up this morning, all you wanted to do was hit the snooze button. You were rushed to get ready and you spilled your coffee on your way out the door. You couldn't find anything to wear that was what you really wanted. Your hair and makeup don't look good at all, and the thought of making it through today seems impossible.

We all have days that feel this way. Everything is happening all at once and it is simply too much. You feel like the world is against you. But I promise, it will end.It may not be today, tomorrow, or even this week. When you feel like this, it seems like it won't, but eventually it will get better. Life is a roller coaster and sometimes all you can do is hang on. So hang on until it gets easier, because it can't be rough forever.

When you feel this way, you are often your worst critic. You are the one who will notice the most flaws with your appearance and you are the one who will be the most frustrated. So go easy on yourself. Don't criticize yourself for having bad days, because everyone does. I know this is easier said than done, but realizing it and trying to be positive can make more of a difference than you think. Give yourself a break. Don't expect perfection from yourself when you know your own limits.

Also, don't stay silent. I'm not saying whine endlessly to anyone who will listen, but it is okay to reach out to your support system and be honest about how you are feeling. Even if they don't know the perfect thing to say to help you feel better, sometimes having someone listen to you and care about what you have to say can be helpful. Heck, sometimes having someone listen is the best thing for you, period.

The main thing is, breathe. As bad as things seem, you can survive this. When you feel overwhelmed, focus on the present, because you can only do things one at a time. It will all get done somehow. Remember that life happens one second at a time. Remember to breathe.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
