We Were Halloweekend 'Heathers'

Oh, October. Such a beautiful month. A month of awkward temperature transitions, cute fashion, and the best holiday, Halloween. More importantly, Halloweekend. As an avid lover of Halloween, I take the holiday very seriously. I spend months planning my costumes, and I get a little bit intense as the day grows nearer.

This year, my best friends and I continued our tradition of a group costume, and chose the infamous Heathers, from "Heathers: the Musical." To us, this was a step up from last year, in which the three of us were the Gotham City Sirens: Harley Quinn, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy.

"Heathers: the Musical" is based on the 1988 movie "Heathers," directed by Michael Lehmann. The plots of both works are basically the same, following teenager Veronica Sawyer as she gets in with the popular girls: the Heathers. They are the prettiest, meanest, and most popular girls in school. The Heathers are Heather Chandler, the “mythic bitch,” Heather Duke, the jealous yet smart second, and Heather McNamara, the head cheerleader.

For this Halloween, I took on the role of Heather Duke and donned her green blazer and a croquet mallet. Now let’s quit the talking and look at some pictures.

Heather Chandler is fierce, and always ready to get back to her favorite game of croquet.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
