Based On Your Personality, What's Your Color?

Have you ever noticed that some people just personify a color? When I started college, I met a girl who is one of the nicest, happiest people I've ever known. To me, she just radiated the color yellow. She got so excited when I told her that because yellow is her favorite color, funnily enough. We spent about fifteen minutes discussing what colors other people we knew were, and it got me thinking about what it meant to be a color.

1. Red

Red is a bright, vivacious color. It is a color for people who are passionate, people who have strong convictions, people who feel everything deeply. If you are red, you are not neutral on any topic. You have opinions on everything, and will argue about all of them. You are loud and unapologetic and outgoing and sometimes struggle with anger. People enjoy being around you, even if you tend to be a bit much sometimes.

2. Orange

Orange is a more subdued color. It is for those who are laid back and comfortable but in a happy way. People with a calm warmth and kindness are orange. If you are generally optimistic, if you're easygoing (sometimes a little too much), you're probably orange. Be careful about being too apathetic, though.

3. Yellow

Yellow is the brightest, happiest color. It is for people who exude kindness and happiness, people who are sunshiny and joyful all the time. If you're the one that brings a smile to people's faces when you walk in the door, you're yellow. You're the type of person people love being around because you can make any day better. You're constantly working to make other people happy; make sure to not wear yourself out!

4. Green

Green evokes feelings of coolness and calmness. People who are green tend to be more outdoorsy. They don't stress much. They are responsible, peaceful, and stable. If you tend to be more reserved and calm, you might be green. Green can also feel aloof, sometimes.

5. Blue

Blue is more of a quiet, clear color. People who are blue tend to be more peaceful, reliable, and productive, but they can also be lonelier. If you are blue, you are probably very sincere, introspective, and easily inspired by the world around you.

6. Purple

Purple has traditionally been the color of royalty. It is associated with dignity and mystery. People who are purple tend to be more creative and passionate. Be careful, though; if you're purple, you might think a little too highly of yourself.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
