Everyday before class I always have to check that I have all of my daily essentials in my backpack before leaving my dorm, because you never know what you day will lead you to, you could spend hours in the library or last minuet trips to Target, so it's always nice to be prepared. These are the most random, yet essential items in my backpack:

  • Chap stick
    • Chap stick is always an essential to make sure I keep with me. You could probably find 3 different types of chap stick in my backpack because it’s always nice to have a variety of choices.
  • Water Bottle
    • I don’t know how I make it through the day without my water bottle, it is the most essential part of my day and I always ensure that I bring my water bottle with me wherever I go.
  • Pens, #2 pencil, Highlighter
    • Note taking is a large part of many of the courses I am taking, therefore I always make sure I have multiple pencils, pens and highlighters. It’s also good to make sure you have #2 pencils on you to use on your Scranton’s.
  • Extra, blank Scranton’s
    • “Pop Quiz!” Not my favorite thing to hear at the beginning of class, but it’s always good to be prepared.
  • Planner
    • This is the number one thing I have with me at all times. Such a vital part of me keeping track of places I have to be and when, what is due and what is coming up in the future. It helps me prioritize and organize my days.
  • Hair Ties/ Hair Clips
    • Sometimes I go to put up my hair and my hair tie snaps, breaks and flies across the room, so it’s always nice to have a back up or two.
  • Snacks
    • A mid-lecture granola bar is always crucial to re-energize my focus. Granola bars are always good to have on you just incase you a feeling low and need to refuel.
  • Wallet
    • You never know when you will get a text asking if you want to go on a last minute Target run or go get dinner at Panera so it is always good to have your wallet on you, just incase.
  • ID Card
    • I am constantly forgetting my ID card, and typically find it in the depths of my backpack. I really need think I invest in a card holder phone case, because I am always losing my ID card.
  • Gum
    • Who doesn’t love gum? Whenever I bring out my gum to grab a piece, everyone around me always wants a piece, so it is always good to back back-up packs just incase end up giving out all of your gum.
  • Headphones
    • My headphones are such an important part of my day. I love listening to music wherever I am, whether it be at the library, gym, walking to class or watching Netflix in my spare time, I always make sure to have them on me.
  • Pepper Spray
    • Walking back late from the lib late at night can be scary, so it is always nice to have some pepper spray accessible in case of emergencies
  • Charger(s)
    • I never leave my room without my phone or laptop charger. My laptop is a huge part of completing my academics, therefore I need it for long nights at the library or to charge it after a long lecture of note taking.

Daily Fun Lists

One of the most dreaded places on campus is the library. Nothing awesome ever happens here. Usually, the only reason you're here is because you've procrastinated so long that the library is the only place you'll actually get stuff done. It gives you this feeling of sadness and impending doom. You have no idea how this is going to go or how long you'll be here, but you do know it is about to be the most excruciating experiences yet. But it has to get done, so you drag yourself to the lovely library.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.
