What You're Worth

You truly are worth more than you understand.

What You're Worth
Exploring Your Mind

I will be the first to admit that I feel like an inconvenience from time to time. Whether I'm given a task that I screw up, which leads to a time crunch and stressed out peers or I wake someone up at an insane hour because my thoughts keep me awake; I wonder if I am really worth the hassle. While I say I can be the first to admit that, I sure hope I'm not the first person you hear this from: You are SO worth it.

You are worth comforting at 2am when your world seems to be falling apart.

You are worth searching a store for hours to find the outfit that makes you feel most confident.

You are worth the prayer and love that people extend to you.

You are worth the $5 it takes to buy you a coffee when you go out.

You are worth the oh-so CRAVED instagram posts detailing how awesome you are.

You are worth the teacher staying a few minutes after class so you can understand the subject.

You are worth the amount of time it takes to get from point A to point B so long as it means being with you.

You are worth the amount of laughter you cause people- even if it brings them to tears.

You are worth celebrating- victories, birthdays, you name it.

You are worth a hug.

You are worth turning regular milk into chocolate milk if it really means that much to you.

You are worth memorizing or writing a song for.

You are worth the time it takes to talk about how your day went.

You are worth a smile and a simple "hello".

You are worth the effort it takes to find the perfect gift.

You are worth someone pulling over or driving to you when you have a flat tire.

You are worth cheers when you walk across stage on graduation day.

You are worth giving a back massage to.

You are worth the wisdom being poured into you when you're in a rough patch.

You are worth giving directions to when you're lost and confused (metaphorically and literally).

You're worth staying on the phone with when you're walking alone and feeling unsafe.

You're worth sitting on the sidelines with when you're injured and need a bench buddy.

You're worth dropping everything when you want to hang out last minute.

You're worth missing an episode of a favorite tv series (that's a big one).

You're worth eating your body weight in pizza and ice cream with.

You're worth the time it takes to create this list.

You're worth the moon and the stars and everything inbetween.

You're worth dying on a cross for. You're worth our God entering this fallen world to be beaten, mocked, and scorned. You're worth His intentionality when creating you. And you're worth His time, everlasting love, His ears when you need to cry to Him, and all His attention.

You're worth it all and an abundance more.

"So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows." Matthew 10:31 (NLT)

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
