Ask yourself - What do I want people to remember me by? Am I living my life seeking to make a mark on the world?

I believe that we live in one of the greatest generations of all time. We all could have been born in any generation- and we were lucky enough to be able to experience the culture of today.

Especially when we're young, it is easy to take advantage of what we have and how we live. However, every day is not guaranteed. Do not wait to start living the life you want to live and leaving the legacy you want to leave. Leave none of your thoughts unsaid, and none of your dreams unfulfilled.

We must make the most of the time that we are alive. We all need to be intentional about making an atmosphere like no other for the upcoming generation, as well as leaving a phenomenal legacy to be proud of. We have the ability to set the example for those of tomorrow. We just have to be deliberate about it.

A lot of times when people think about their legacy, they think about accumulating material objects. In reality, your legacy lies in the quality of your relationships. Think- if someone were at your funeral, what would you want them to say? I know that is rather harsh, but it is a real way to think about your impact. Would they talk about how you impacted their life? Would they say things that you would want to be said about you?

In order to make the most of your life and legacy, you have to make it a priority not to live for yourself, but rather to live for others. Strive to find your passions and use them to enlighten other's lives around you. Your expertise in a certain talent can be revolutionary in someone's life. For instance, someone vocally-abled might be able to belt a song that no one else can. They should use that voice to encourage and lift others! In the same context, whatever your talent is should be used to positively influence others. Do not let your distinct strengths go to waste!

It is selfish to deprive the world of the gifts you were given. It is so easy to blend in the background of this noisy world, when really you could be making a difference with your purpose. This unique ability of yours makes you one of a kind, and it should not be dimmed. Be confident in your capabilities and the potential that you have.

In finding these passions that you have and using them positively, there is no doubt that you will leave behind a legacy that is revolutionary.

You and I should live everyday as if it is our last day. As we go into 2017, keep your legacy in mind as you try something new and make this year your year.

Be intentional and purposeful in all things, because everyday counts in making your history and your mark in this world.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
