Ah League, one of the most popular free-to-play games in all the world. On average 27 million people play this game every day, and approximately 67 million different users play per month. Although not everyone follows the competitive aspect of it, it is one of the largest eSports out there as well as one of the top broadcasted games on Twitch.tv daily. Even if you've never played League of Legends, chances are you've heard of it at some point or another. This MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) it based on real time strategies and quick tactics, which then causes the player to assume different roles throughout their playtime of the game. Stereotypes for roles are something that has long circulated in the League community as well as even breaking down into a stereotype for the 129 playable champions in the game. These 129 characters break down into 5 roles, Mid lane, AD Carry, Support, Top Lane and Jungle, with some champions being playable in multiple positions. Here's what your position says about you:
Top Laner:
Top laners are considered the outcast or loner role. This role would rather the game be a strict one on one than anything else. They usually are tanky and are meant to grind out and plow through the enemy minions. Their only goal is to win lane, and they're going to do their best to do it alone. Top laners often ignore the rest of the positions and only teleport into other lanes if absolutely necessary. This is their game to win and they're not there to carry you.
Jungler:
Junglers are gluttons for punishment, because basically anything bad that happens in the game at all is somehow their fault. They are macro game players, more concerned with ebb and flow than with being the big play-maker. Rhythm and structure people, and having the free flow to run after whatever their heart desires. But if the Jungler doesn't gank accordingly, you're going to have a bad time with your teammates.
Mid Laner:
Mid Laners tend the most self-centered personality types, which is fitting after all given that they are literally in the center of both the map and majority of fighting scenarios. Most likely to think they're capable of doing anything, often overextending and dying first but that's okay with them as long as they get the trade.
AD Carry:
With the name Carry, ADC players often see themselves as the best players in their game. Even though they can one shot kill their enemies, they often overextend and find themselves in trouble. This position has lethal attack moves but is often lacking in the defense area so they are killed as easily as they kill other champions. They usually are quick to throw out the blames in the game and are more concerned with their kill-death ratio than anything. They also tend to think they lay claim to the minions in their lane, often bullying the support into a standby.
Support:
There are two types of support player, the quiet types who are super passive and those that take charge telling everyone where they need to be in the mom role. Usually disregarded, but supporting champs are the unsung heroes of their respective games whether it's laying down massive stuns or healing other champs. Support characters are the most utilized and least respected, but that's okay because they know they're needed.
Bonus:
Fill:
Although fill isn't technically a role, these players basically will do any position that hasn't been taken (usually support). These players are usually the passive people who can't make up their mind so they get bullied into roles, and are usually passive about most things in life. Do us all a favor and make up your mind.
