What Your Favorite Comfort Food Says About You

Through all the hard times in life, the one thing you can count on is food. Comfort foods are the star players of the food game and they are there to get you through whatever life throws at you. From ice cream to french fries, your favorite comfort food says a lot about you. Here are the top comfort foods and what they say about you as a person:

Ice cream:

Ice cream is the type of comfort food you eat after a break up. Ice cream is what you binge eat when you're alone in bed watching romantic comedies. Ice cream doesn't judge you and doesn't care that you haven't showered yet or have been crying about your ex for an hour straight. Ice cream will support you through your Spotify breakup playlists and help you feel a little bit better. If this is your favorite comfort food you're a little bit of a loose cannon, but at least you have ice cream.

Brownies or Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip:

These foods are the group therapy of comfort food. There's a high chance that you're not eating these alone because you actually have to spend time making them. If these are your favorite comfort foods then you most likely cope with things by surrounding yourself with friends. You're probably the friend who everyone likes hanging out with because they're not afraid of some extra calories. If you made these alone then that is dedication to the comfort food game and you win at kitchen life.

Leftovers:

Leftovers are what you eat when you need to be comforted but are too lazy to do anything about it. If these are your favorite comfort foods you probably are most likely to go on a 3-day drinking bender followed by 2 days of Netflix, chill and regret. Or you're just really stingy and not wasteful, which can be appreciated.

Soup:

You're most likely very hungover or sick, or its cold outside. Soup is the best comfort food when you don't know if you can stomach anything else or you're cold. If soup is your favorite comfort food you probably have Pinterest boards dedicated to food for each season. There's also a good chance that you didn't take care of yourself last night and you're trying to even it out with today's decisions.

Grilled Cheese or Mac and Cheese:

Just like these comfort foods, you're a classic. You probably are just an average joe who eats healthy-ish all week, but treats themselves every once in a while. If you're going to eat a comfort food, you're going to do it right and that's why you've picked one of these.

Pizza:

You don't care what anyone else thinks and no, you're not going to have just one slice. You'll most likely eat the whole pie and it won't be glamorous. You're not sharing and you're not ashamed. This is the badass of comfort foods because you're not afraid to go out in the world and get what you want, if what you want is a medium deep dish with extra cheese.

French Fries:

French fries are for the fun loving person who needs to be full and they need to be full now. To get through your day, you literally need to fill your body with grease and salt. If this is your favorite comfort food you are probably the life of the party. When everyone else is ordering Chinese after the bar, you're being a go-getter and sticking to your American roots.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.
