What You Will And Won't Miss

The goods and bads of going back to school

What You Will And Won't Miss

Although every college student is counting down the days until move-in day, there's always a small part of home we sadly can't bring with us, but we sure wish we could.

1. The food.

Nothing is better than a home cooked meal from mom or dad. You might not be grateful for those quickly made meals that are thrown at you at home, but you sure will be once you taste the food in the dining hall. Although I will give my school some credit, not all the food is terrible, I actually mostly enjoy the food, but nothing is better than a nice home cooked meal made with love.

2. Family.

Although we might not get along with family all the time, once you're separated for a while, you will indeed start to miss them. My family and I debate with each other just about every day, but that doesn't mean we don't love spending time together, and joking around.

3. Freedom.

Of course, It's amazing to live with some of your best friends at school, but you'd be lying to yourself if you said you don't enjoy having a room to yourself. Late night chats are great, but being able to watch Netflix as loud as you want at any time you'd like is one of the most relaxing ways to spend a day. Sorry Britt, Love ya, but I also do cherish my free space :)

Of course, with all positives of staying home, there's are also some negatives of going back to school.

1. The work.

Nobody in their right mind could say that they enjoy doing school work. Staying up till God-knows-when to write some stupid essay instead of heading out with your friends for the night is definitely not the most fun, but there is no easy way to tell a professor you'd rather party than study. Sadly, we are here for the academics even though nobody would ever want to admit that.

2. Saying bye to your friends at home.

Lucky for me, I don't have that many friends from home that I need to give a heartbreaking goodbye to, but for other people, I know there are. Don't get too down about saying bye to your hometown friends because your crew from college is super excited to reunite with you and share all the fun stories over their summer!

So, in reality, going back to school has some sad and exciting emotions to it, but forget about the bad things and get pumped up for another enjoyable semester. All of your friends are waiting to see you within the next 3 weeks!

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
