Time falls, time fades
But it still goes on
The wordless puppet shields his face
Until his mind has gone.
It's not enough to face the tough
The worries, doubts, and snares
Without a solid ground beneath
His progress won't be spared.
The puppet creaks, the puppet cracks
Yet not a word is slurred
He cannot let his framework snap
Or make his thoughts unheard.
What people want and people ask
Are rarely both the same
He came to find, time after time
They had no traits to claim.
Today and the next, the world goes on by
But nobody knows what they're after
The poor wordless puppet just stands idly by
Wishing once more to hear laughter.
To know what one wants, they must know what they have
And find what it is that they're missing
Only then can they find what they crave
And stop wasting their time by dismissing.
The wordless puppet is but an observer
Of the world and the strange people in it
But one thing he's learned, in his long game of life
Is the only way to lose, is to quit it.
