Commuting to School isn't that bad, if you're prepared. Some drives to campus are fine, but when you have an 8 am and hit the morning work rush, be prepared to take a longer ride. The long rides in traffic definitely need a few reinforcements. But don't worry the 7 key reinforcements are provided for you right here!
A fully charged phone, and a car or portable charger.
You need to be able to access your GPS (in case there is a faster route), or to call someone in case of an emergency.
A series of playlists saved for different moods.
Honestly, this is probably the biggest reason why you need that charged phone. You can't always trust that the radio is going to play the music you want to hear, and even if it does, there's always SO many commercials. So if you are going to be stuck in traffic you need to at least make the most of it by being able to blast the music that you want to hear with no interruptions.
Some tissues, in case your sick or stuffy.
There has definitely been a time when you desperately needed to blow your nose, but couldn't because you didn't have a tissue. This is why keeping your car stocked with some is important, you never know when you'll need one, and a lengthened drive could be the time.
A water bottle.
It's important to stay hydrated and well let's face it, we're always thirsty when there's nothing to drink. Sitting in a pile up of traffic you could easily get parched from singing your heart out, and making your throat sore. Keeping a water with you will remove that sore throat feeling, and allow you to get right back to singing.
Some snacks.
Often teens do not like to wake up early, especially not after a night out. This is what makes that morning commute to an 8 am so much worse because you're waking up much earlier than wanted, and so often you skip breakfast. So as you're stuck in traffic tired, and now hungry it sure would be good if you had a snack to hold you over for the time being, so definitely bring some with you. (maybe even have some that you keep in your car for times like these.)
A sufficient gas level.
Because running out of gas is the last thing you need. Already annoyed by the amount of traffic you are sitting in, and suddenly you pass E and your car won't go. This would be the worst situation because you need to sit and wait for help, pay for gas, and then go back to sitting in traffic. Just be prepared and make sure you always have enough gas for the commute, and of course the prolonged traffic filled commute.
And most importantly patience!
You will never make it through traffic, especially with Philly drivers if you don't have a bit of patience. Trust me you're going to need it or else you'll go crazy and end up piling yourself in debt to just live on campus and avoid driving.
