It's been said that you don't realize what you have until it's gone and I agree with that completely, but I don't think I completely understood the phrase until I went away to college.
In high school, you think it is the worst thing in the world to be around your family all the time. You will find any way to get out of your house. A football game? You're there. A friend invites you over? No problem, you're on your way. It seems like any opportunity you get to leave your house, you take it. Sadly, I was this way in high school. I was involved in everything that I possibly could be, whether it was sports or clubs and organizations. Now that I'm in college, I realize just how much I took being home for granted.
Since I've been in college, these are just a few things that I find myself missing the most about being home:
1. Family
2. HOME COOKED MEALS!!!
3. Mom
4. Having Your Mom Help You With Laundry
5. Sleep
6. Pets
7. Your Parents Buying You Stuff
8. Having Your Parents Take Care of You When You're Sick
9. Friends
10. Your Hometown
