" Dogs are man's best friend."

"A dog is the only thing on Earth that will love you more than you love yourself."

"Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened."

"Happiness starts with a wet nose and ends with a wagging tail."

These quotes by famous authors express the impact a dog or just a pet in general can have on your life. A lot of people that aren’t pet owners cannot even see how big of a difference an animal can make in someone’s life. Dogs have the ability to cheer someone up on the worst of days, and they make a great partner to encourage you to keep going on that walk. Throughout my life, I have had two dogs, and I can confidently say that every person should have some kind of pet in their lives. I know you may be thinking that I am crazy and that there is no way that an animal can change your life, but they really can. So, to convince you all to go to your local animal shelter and adopt a new furry friend, I want to tell you all of the lessons that my amazing animals have taught me.

First, my dogs bring me immense happiness. Starting from the very first day I got my dog Biggie, I knew that he was going to make me so happy. Whenever I would get off the bus from school, Biggie would always be standing right there wagging his tail and waiting. To this day, whenever I walk in the door, both of my dogs quickly get up and run at me with a toy. It is just a very comforting thing knowing that no matter what happens, your pet is going to be so happy to see you walk through that door.

The next lesson my dogs have taught me is curiosity. I cannot explain to you the amount of times I have seen both of my dogs inside and outside sniffing around. They always have a need to discover new things no matter how long they have lived in the same exact house. It is so much fun seeing your dog’s tail starts wagging when it finds something new, and sometimes you think that you should be more curious after you see them.

Then, I learned an immediate lesson of loyalty. Dogs are the most loyal animals I have ever seen, and sometimes it can even be annoying. I could be showering and hear my dog scratching on the bathroom door because he wants to be right next to me. These pets will never wag their tail at anyone faster than when they wag it at you, and they will never run towards anyone faster than when they run to you. You don’t have to worry about your dog leaving you because to them you are everything.

Finally, the endless love pets provide to their owners is unmatchable. I saw a video recently of a dog lying on his owner’s grave, and it sounded like he was crying. These dogs have just as many feelings as us, but they just can’t voice them like we can. This means that they have different ways of showing it. This includes bringing a dead mouse to your back door, bringing back their toys for you to throw them, and that infamous run to the door when you come home. Nothing is going to show you the amount of infinite love that pets can give you.

My dogs are my best friends. I have never been so excited to see something everyday. There is one thing you must remember before you get a pet: "Pets are only a part of your life, but you are their entire life." That is another quote by some famous person that loves their pet just as much as I love mine.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
