Working with children is one of the best blessings this world has to offer. Most jobs that young children are the focus of are primarily for children to learn something, but working with children has taught me more about life than I could ever learn from any other source.
Children have so much light in their eyes and so much to offer without even being aware of it. Working with children has taught me to be accepting, to love everyone who's nice to me, no matter where they're from, what they wear, or anything else I could possibly judge them on. Children have taught me that the best friendships in the world start with a simple hello with someone who's willing to build sand castles and play barbies with you.
While working with children has brought me many happy lessons, I've also learned that it's okay to cry when things get to be too much. Whether the simplest thing really gets to you, or the world feels like it's crashing down, sometimes the best idea is to just sit down and let it all out.
Lastly, there is always a reason to smile, to laugh, and to dance. Throughout my time working with children, this has been one of the most important lessons I've learned. Children will do whatever it takes to make themselves and everyone around them giggle, they'll find happiness in just about anything, and if there's no music to dance to, they'll make up their own. This lesson that the kids I've worked with have subconsciously taught me is applicable to almost every situation in life. No matter how hard things get in life, there will always, ALWAYS, be something to smile about, and it's so much better when you make others smile with you. And if things continuously seem to be dragging you down, get up and dance it off. I've learned from working with children that it's okay to laugh at yourself.
Children have nothing and everything figured out, and they've got an entire world to tackle. If we all took a minute to learn a lesson from the young kids we surround ourselves with, we'd all look at the world a little differently.
