There are countless stories in the Bible of followers of Jesus who walk through fierce and fiery trials. But, there are also stories of God performing miracles through those trials. I assume because you clicked on this article, that you’re facing one of those fears, and fiery trials. You are behind a total blockade, and you don’t know what to do. You’ve prayed, or maybe you haven’t prayed as much as you wished you have, but you’re still with a wall preventing you from moving.

Throughout my tribulations, God has taught me things that drove me back to His heart -- in situations where it would be easy to go astray. We could go about life and try to figure everything out ourselves. We could plan our future as much as we want, but until we surrender those things, we won't be happy.

Stay Attentive

Don’t associate yourself with fools. Fools will only lead you toward foolish actions, and cause you to make foolish decisions. Your perspective could become bankrupt if your mind is wrapped in wrong ideals. Instead, surround yourself with wise people -- ones that will cause you to make wise actions and will always lead you to wise choices that offer you positive outcomes. Follow mentors who are God ordained, and hear from Him. When you have your eyes fixed on Jesus, you will go in the direction lead only by him, and not by others' opinions. Acquire truth and let you heart be driven by it.

Be Intentional

Don’t forget the reason you were put on this earth. You were placed exactly where you are by the Creator of the universe to for filling a task only you could fill at all. When we lose sight of that mission, we lose sight of our natural calling. Don’t trade complacency for safety.

“The moment you live like you were created to be set apart, is the moment you walk in the freedom you were always destined to walk in.”

Walk in obedience and humility. Good things will always come from that. Allow God to direct your every step. Something that has always made me frustrated is the unknown, but with God, when we surrender our plans and our anxiety to him, He will let us rest in green pastures. We won't have to worry what will be, because we know who has control.

Prevent the Negative

God’s grace is sufficient in our most vulnerable times. We don’t have to manipulate our situations to try and “pass the grace test." We are humans, and we were created to make mistakes, but in the presence of the Heavenly Father, our mistakes will always be used as a lesson. Trace back God‘s faithfulness, it will help you recall hard times in the past and allow you to reflect on God's works. Remember the periods of your disappointments, as those open your heart to align with God's will, and open up your ears to hear his voice.

I know it isn't easy, and nobody said it will be. I can't help you fix the season you're in, but I want to help you through it. These “why“ questions you can't seem to find answers for are right within your reach. Lean in, dig deep, and discover the true heart of God. There you’ll find your answer.

"He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters, He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right path for his name's sake." Psalm 23:2-3

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
