What I Want You To Always Know

Dear Best Friend,

12
What I Want You To Always Know
Kaite L

As I sit through life and have my own thoughts, I often am constantly wondering what the people I love are thinking about. I always hope they feel happy, loved, and that they are nothing short of perfect. So this is an open note to my best friend about all of things I hope she always remembers.

1. You are always loved no matter what the situation.

No matter if we are fighting, or upset about something, you are still loved. By me, by your family, by your co captain and so many others. Don't ever think otherwise, because it is the absolute truth.

2. Your problems are my problems.

No matter what you're going through I will be there right by your side to help you get through it. I am willing to punch any boy in the face, force you to smile even when you want to cry and to forever be a shoulder to cry on.

3. No matter the distance, I'm not going anywhere.

We may live 300 miles away from each other, and we rarely get the chance to see each other, but I promise you mean the same to me now as you did the day I first met you. I'm really lucky to have met you and don't ever want you to think that I'm going anywhere. You're stuck with me.

4. I'll forever be your number one fan.

Besides your family, of course, I will be your number one fan. Even though I don't really understand your sport or student council I will still cheer for you, and make a fool of myself trying to use slang terms to cheer for you.

5. I truly hope that I never lose you.

We have had our ups and downs, but honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better best friend. I truly hope I never know a day without you, because that's something that would really hurt. Thank you for everything you have done for me, and I can't wait for the many memories yet to come.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
