I give props to anyone who has had to deal with the awful effects of sensitive skin. Having eczema and psoriasis caused nothing but skin problems. Products that overuse alcohol, talc powder or any harsh chemicals are off limits. With the rise of natural and organic products, it has become easier to find remedies for common problems.

Here is a list of miracle natural products that have saved my skin, face and hair.

Coconut Oil

If you have not jumped on the coconut oil bandwagon: you should! It is a miracle oil for a number of common issues, like dry skin and acne. You can bake with it, eat it and add it to your beauty regimen. I use it to wash my face, facials, teeth whitening, deep conditioning my hair and scalp, shaving and the list goes on.

Tea Tree Oil

When my skin is a hot mess and I need a fast spot treatment this is my go to. You can use it in many different facial treatments and throw it in your shampoo for a deep clean.

Honey

Honey is an antibacterial, calming agent that can be used for so many things. A lot of people use it in their hair after harsh chemicals. I personally mix it with cinnamon and nutmeg to make a facial that calms down my acne. It can even get rid of stubborn blackheads and reduce pore size

Charcoal

This one you have to be careful with. It is a strong cleanser that can lift impurities off of your skin but should only be used once in a while. Sometimes charcoal is so good at cleansing that it can be over-drying. But it is perfect for when you need that deep clean without the chemicals.

Lemon Juice

This natural detox can be used for many common problems. Even just by throwing some into your water at work or the gym, it's the perfect detox. It can also be used to spot treat and lighten hair.

Apple Cider Vinegar

This was the holy grail before coconut oil. Some people even use it to wash their hair because it doesn't have all the additives that shampoo does. By taking it internally you can detox the body because it cures common ailments like yeast infections, constipation and clears sinuses. It can remove buildup in your hair, acne and dry skin. You name it, there's a natural remedy.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
