Springtime is such a great time of the year, because we finally get to put away our chunky sweaters, and heavy jackets, and switch back to dresses, skirts, and flip flops. It can also be an awkward time in terms of fashion. If you live in New England, you’ll understand that in one week you can have a bright and sunny day, a cloudy cold day, and a day full of nonstop rain. So what outfits can you wear, when you’re dealing with three or more different types of weather changes in one week, plus days that have multiple weather changes in row? Well, to help answer that question , I took some inspiration from today’s hot Spring 2016 Ready to Wear fashion from top designers for outfit ideas perfect for New England spring weather!

1. Chloe Spring 2016

This look is effortlessly chic, made in a lightweight fabric so it’s perfect for a sunny day, but you can easily throw on a blazer when it gets chilly, or even leather ankle boots to update your look for a more evening feel.

2. Andrew Gn Spring 2016 RTW

Shirt dresses are a great solution for what to wear in a place where the weather can’t make up it’s mind. It covers you up on top, in case it gets chilly, but your legs are left bare since it could still be a pretty sunny day. If you want you can cheat a little and wear a skirt with a shirt in the same color.

3. Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2016 RTW

Graphic Tee + flared culottes in a bright pattern + sandals + messy bun = perfect lazy day outfit.

4. Badgley Mishka Spring 2016 RTW

Rejoice! The maxi dress is still in! I love the versatility of them because you can pair them with cardigans, blazers, vests, gladiators, flats, totes, cross body bags, I could go on for days. You still covered and cute when you wear a maxi dress! If you’re not into prints, then go for a solid colored one instead!

6. Vionnet Spring 2016 RTW

A dress and pants put together? Gasp! Call the fashion police, alert the media! Well, not so fast. This look changes everything. It works because it has all neutral colors. There is a mixture of fabrics in the “dress” that keeps the outfit interesting and chic.

So if you dare attempt a dress and pants, makes sure that a) it is a sleevless dress (this is spring not winter), and b) the dress is takes center stage in terms of a being statement piece, and is in a sheer fabric.

Well, these are just a few outfit ideas to get you started on surviving the New England spring weather. Just remember, always have fun with your spring outfits!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
