What to do Your First Weekend Home:

So, you've suffered midterms, gross showers, and mediocre food for a good solid seven weeks now, and its finally that time where you get a nice break to escape this life and go live your second one at home. Here's how to spend and enjoy that time optimally:

1. Eat good food and of course, add it to your snapchat story and brag to your other friends still at college how you got to eat Green and Tonic while they eat caf food.

2. Post an obligatory picture with or just of your pet. Show them some much needed love since you were away for so long.

3. Try to forget about all of the assignments you were given, but then remember that they exist last minute and do it at the last second. (No image available, mainly because I left my textbooks at school)

4. Go shopping! Especially those of us who don't have cars on campus, buy all your necessary goods in advance so you wont have to worry about them later... And clothes. Always buy extra clothes.

5. TEXT YOUR FRIENDS! See who's home and reconnect and rant about roommates, professors, maybe even lab partners. There's nothing better than laughing at (or with) each other.

6. Steal nice sweaters and jackets from your mom and pack them quickly before she notices they're gone.

7. Enjoy your bed and shower, and remember that 3x5 shoebox you now live in and how you took your room and showering shoeless for granted all of these years.

8. Annoy your siblings and teach them who's boss again.

9. Visit your favorite and least favorite high school teachers... Reminding them that you graduated and are doing just fine.

10. Spend quality time with those people who raised you because chances are they miss having to drive you around or yelling at you to pick up your clothes off the ground.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
