I've been sick for two weeks. This has left me with tons of time by myself. I am pretty sure I'm never going to get out of here. So here's what I've been doing to keep myself from going insane, even though I am definitely already past that point. Maybe you can do these things too next time you're super sick and in bed.

1. Binge watch Netflix until your brain turns to mush.

When you can't do anything else, watch Netflix! Start a new show or watch and oldie but a goody!

I may or may not have seen forty episodes of How I Met Your Mother in two days...and it's the best thing ever.

Netflix is my new best friend.

2. Knit until you give yourself arthritis.

My hands literally hurt because I've knitted so much. The good news is I'm halfway done with all of my Christmas presents!

3. Color a picture.

Sharpen up those colored pencils! When I was at Hobby Lobby the other day, they had an animal coloring book. It had everything from elephants to swans in there. I stayed up until 12:30 the other night coloring that thing! If you don't get something knitted at Christmas, you'll definitely get a cool picture colored by yours truly.

4. Write some snail mail.

Grab your favorite pens and some pretty cardstock and start writing. There is something really amazing about writing letters, and something incredible about receiving one. Whether it's a note of encouragement or a cool story to share, it'll be so appreciated. I promise.

5. Sneak out to buy yarn at Hobby Lobby.

But Mom! I just need one more ball of yarn! I've only used like......seven or eight so far...

(Note: Don't actually sneak out when you're on prescription cough meds and antibiotics... Let your family get it for you. or you will get caught like this raccoon.)

6. Nap.

Evidently naps are encouraged when you're sick, even if you've been stuck in your room for a week and a half. Sleep while you can before you have to face the real world again.

7. Dream of Panda Express.

Ever since I got sick, I have been craving Panda Express. I don't know why, but all I want right now is a bowl of Beijing beef and chow mein. I'm pretty sure not being able to drive anywhere makes the craving worse.

8. Play the piano.

I wonder if I can get Sugar to do this.

9. Sidewalk chalk.

If you're well enough but can't leave the house, grab some sidewalk chalk and go to town. It's so much fun. There is some original artwork on my driveway right now.

10. Take your meds.

Or you will feel like this. Also, your mom or grandmother will hunt you down until you've taken everything the doctor prescribed. Even if the pills are so big you can barely swallow them and the cough medicine is so nasty it makes you nauseous.

11. Plan your wedding on Pinterest.

Why freak out on your wedding day like Julia Roberts, when you could have everything planned completely in advance? This step alone will kill thousand of hours of sick time.

12. Catch up on the Bachelorette.

This all I have to say about what I have seen so far. **prepare for spoilers sorta**

Let's be real. This is how I felt about the "Men Tell All" episode. I'm pretty sure the best part was the bloopers. Also Kenzie.

Oh Dean. I just can't. I'm so sorry she broke your heart. Also, thank you for standing up for Kenny. It was everything. I will love you forever.

And about everything with Peter. I can't talk about it. I will start crying like Rachel did.

13. Watch "Ever After" to take your mind off the Bachelorette

Whether you're crying, whether it's over the Bachelorette or because you've been trapped in your room for years, watch a classic romantic movie like "Ever After." It's so good. Like, "Stop everything you're doing and go watch it now" good.

14. Call your grandma or your aunt or your cousin.

There is really nothing like catching up on all the family gossip! Plus, it's nice to talk to people who know you when you've been trapped by yourself for days.

15. Have a pity party and cry.

I've hit my breaking point. I don't think I'm ever going to be able to get out of this room. Or go anywhere ever again. Or see my friends. Or eat real food.

16. Paint a pretty picture.

Well, I tried painting. Let's just say lots of happy accidents occurred.

17. Make your dog snuggle with you.

Is there really anything better than doggie snuggles when you're sick?

18. Watch pre-season football.

Even though it really doesn't matter because it's only pre-season, it is still something to do. Plus that was a close call Thursday night. Should have maybe thrown a good pass and ran out of bounds to stop the clock Arizona. Then we could have maybe had a field goal and won the game. Did I mention I really don't like the Cowboys? Like I said, no big deal, just the pre-season.

19. Listen to some old Taylor Swift songs.

"If you could see that I'm the one who understands you? Been here all along so why can't you see? You belong with me"

20. Do some online shopping, even though you're broke.

Yet somehow this turned into looking for books. Now I'm really broke.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
