February is upon us and we all know what that means: candy, chocolates, pink hearts and bunches of red roses with happy, perfect couples everywhere.
Now, I have nothing against having a day to celebrate love (call me a romantic), but I have to say, being single can be especially hard on Valentine's Day. I personally have spent my fair share of only getting cards from my family (thanks mom and dad). But Valentine's doesn't have to be an unhappy holiday for single people anymore!
The great thing about a holiday dedicated to love means that any type of love can be celebrated. That includes the love of friends and family. So, after asking around, me and my single ladies came up with some super fun ways to celebrate Valentine's day without the "lovey dovey couple stuff involved."
"My friends and I have always had a waffle bar, laid roses around the room, and watched horror movies with sparkling grape juice for Galentines, and then buy cheap chocolate on February 15."
"One year my friends and I made homemade pizzas and had a High School Musical marathon... Fave Valentine's Ever!!!"
"Me and my friends would all find recipes from Pinterest and make a bunch of yummy desserts together before we have a Disney movie marathon in our pajamas! Most comfortable, hassle-free Valentine's I've ever had!"
"The best way to spend Valentine's day is to go to a Humane Society and spread some love to the puppies and kittens. That will give you the most fun and cutest Galentine's plan evah!"
"All my single friends and I would dedicate the holiday to ourselves and have a relaxing Spa/Treat Yo' Self Day. It is always very much needed and a great way to catch up and spend time with the greatest people you know."
I hope that these Galentine's Day memories will help you come up with some great ideas on your own that you and your group of gals can do! And remember: you don't have to be in a relationship to enjoy the cheap chocolate that Valentine's Day provides!
XOXO
