Hue was, until 1945, the imperial capital of the country, until the reign of the Nguyen dynasty, the last imperial family that ruled Vietnam, came to an end.
Today, Hue has a population of 344,581 inhabitants. It is a city that, above all, stands out for its historical architectural legacy, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993. During the Vietnam War many of the historic buildings of Hue were destroyed or damaged, but today they have still preserved a good part of them and they are, without a doubt, the main points of interest of the city.
