So, it's your last semester of school. The future looks bright and you're going to be stepping out into the real world. What are you going to do during your last semester of school before you graduate?

Panic

Just scream into a pillow and hope that good fortune will fall in your lap. You're terrified, alone, and broke. What a life you lead. This is everyone's go-to reaction because the world isn't safe. You won't have a clear path from here on out and you're not sure you'll ever have fun ever again. However, I give better advice than I can take so here are a few things to look forward to.

Have fun

This is it. This is your last 16 weeks of college. You gotta do something with your time. Don't sweat all the final exams and internships. They're important and all but you have to remember that school is supposed to be fun. Live it up. If you think that it's all downhill from here, that sounds like a pretty good reason to have the time of your life. Grab all your friends and have a ball. Make sure to end on a high note.

Work for the future

When it's your last semester, you have to face the music. It is finally time to work on your career and have a game plan for employment. I'll be throwing stuff at the wall and see if anything sticks. If worse comes to worse, just have a back-up plan. Don't give up, it wastes too much time. You don't have much of it left. There is still hope and you've worked hard for it. Make it count.

Nostalgia

Once classes start again, I'm gonna be taking every step with a breath of fresh air. You gotta take it all in. This is your college experience. It wasn't all that it was cracked up to be but it certainly surprised you all the same. Like a cancer patient, I'll be thankful for everything before I go. It really is beautiful when you run out of time, isn't it?

Old dogs, new tricks

You still have a semester to learn. It seems like you haven't learned anything at all but you have and you still can. I'll be learning and trying some new things too. There is time to experiment and try it out before you graduate.

Farewell

I'm going to say goodbye to friends, hopefully see them again, and shed one manly tear for the good, old times. I love to say goodbye but hate to see you go. It's nice to have closure and make sure people know how much they mean to you. You gotta have that one last goodbye before you part your separate ways. Because without your friends, life at college really blows. When you're just hitting the books and moving from dorm to classroom and back, that's a pretty sad life. So I'll be saying farewell and so long because my friends deserve to remembered for all the good times.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
