Whether you had one day or one week between summer sessions, there were endless possibilities to enjoy your tiny sliver of summer.
1. Tried a new drink from Starbucks.
Since you had some downtime and didn't rely on coffee to make it through all of your assignments, this break was the perfect opportunity to branch out and try something new!
2. Read a book.
Honestly, I hadn't read a book in so long that I felt truly enlightened after getting a little bit of downtime to sit back and enjoy a novel.
3. Binge-watched a Hulu/Netflix/Amazon Prime series.
There's NOTHING like a good "I haven't left my bed in 24 hours" kind of tv-watching. Some might say that it's unhealthy. However, after putting in some hard work all of Summer 1, you deserve it.
Practiced yoga.
GiphySummer 1 was hard. This was the perfect opportunity to learn how to breathe like a normal person again. Yoga is really great for learning how to de-stress and to clear your mind. Sadly, Summer 2 came and filled your mind right up again with useless information.
5. Gone to the gym.
Seriously, I know you've been stuck inside the house/library/ apartment/ quiet space for such a long time. This small break was the perfect opportunity to move your muscles again and get a little stronger so you could tackle Summer 2.
6. Spent time with friends.
And if you didn't have any friends because of Summer 1, this was also the perfect opportunity to go out to random bars/clubs and make friends! Or, meet up with old ones who haven't seen you all summer long (if they haven't forgotten about you).
7. Eat.
I know you were probably too busy worrying about your lab report or your 11:59 deadline to remember to take care of your body. Therefore, the gap was the perfect time to remind your body that it needs food to survive and it still tastes very good.
8. Clean.
If you're anything like me, you probably have the "chair" that all of your laundry gets thrown onto because you simply do not have time to put it away. Well, this in-between part of your summer was the perfect opportunity to take care of that chair and to tidy up your room a little bit - just so it's livable again. Also, you could have helped out around the house a little more, since you weren't preoccupied.
9. Pick up extra shifts at work.
If you weren't busy studying for tests, you totally could have made more money. I know you, broke college student. I am you. Out of all the ideas on this list, this one is the most practical.
10. Shopped until you dropped.
With all of those extra shifts comes some extra cash. This would have been a great opportunity to hit up all of your favorite stores.
11. Went on a mini-vacation.
There's nothing quite like laying on a beach, right? You should have enjoyed the time off by laying on one and letting all of your problems (or that C in your Summer 1 class) wash away.
