What To Do and Not To Do On Tinder

How to use dating apps like Tinder.

Tinder is an app that is marketed as a dating site. Many people also stereotype this app as a “hook-up” act. Many younger people, especially college students, use this. Its purpose can differ based on how you choose to use it. A profile consists of a few pictures, a bio, and the option to add a song you like. These are my tips on how to efficiently and safely use Tinder

1.)Choose an array of pictures. Having only selfies can come off as conceited and having all group shots can be confusing, trying to figure out which face is consistent in all of them. Having no pictures of your face can come off as odd. In my opinion, it’s best to do some group shots, a selfie or two, and some fun pictures. This intrigues people enough to swipe right.

2.)Bios. Keep your bio a decent length, not too long and not too short. Having long bios with emojis can be obnoxious. A bio too short can give too little information. It is also a good idea to include what you want from the app in your bio. This will avoid any confusion about whether you are looking for a relationship or not.

3.)Girls, don’t be afraid to message first! This is a common theme on tinder that I do not understand whatsoever. Many girls seem to expect that guys will message first. There’s no issue with that but, if someone’s bio interests you why not message first? In my experience, guys like this it usually surprises most of them. So, don’t be afraid to message first!

4.)Use Tinder safely. Before meeting up with anyone, try to get a phone number and last name. There’s nothing wrong with typing a name into Facebook and making you are meeting the same person. I suggest getting a phone number so you can check the area code. Before a date or hook-up, let one or two friends know where you’re going. In general, being cautious never hurts when meeting up with someone you met online.

Tinder is a good way to meet people, especially on a large college campus. Many guys and girls use the app. It can be really fun when you use it with friends! Sometimes you can even find genuine relationships on there, I personally have. In an age of technology, meeting people in person can be hard. Using apps like Tinder can help ease that anxiety about meeting people.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
