This past weekend on Sunday October 30th, Milo Yiannopoulos was invited by the Republicans of UCI club to grace the campus with his presence. In case you aren't familiar with Milo, let me fill you in on the work he does. Milo is a journalist and a public speaker who became famous for preaching against political correctness and all social justice movements, including the most talked about movements such as Black Lives Matter and Feminism. His ideologies upset so many people that he was banned from Twitter this past summer.

Milo Yiannopoulos is popular among conservatives, but not so popular among the students of UC irvine. Due to the protests that broke out on Milo’s last visit to UCI, angry students put together a petition that was just short of about 350 signatures on change.org, seeking to ban Yiannopoulos from speaking on campus again. Despite the petition and some students efforts to tear down posters promoting the event, UC Irvine got it’s second visit from Mr. Yiannopoulos.

The Facebook page that was promoting the event called for attendees to “wear your most culturally appropriating, offensive, triggering Halloween costume to the event for a *fabulous* costume contest!” as well as to “bring as much privilege as you can check”.

I don't know about all of you, but this definitely sounds like this was meant to urge protests for this event. The invitation is surprising, but so are some of the costumes that actually followed the given dress code. Milo's event had no filter when it came to Halloween.

The Geisha

Talk about cultural appropriation.

The Devil/Hillary Clinton

Okay, so I guess I expected this one at a Trump rally.

"STOP BEING POOR"

Wow, why didn't I think of this sooner? Thank you stranger for the life-changing advice.

"Feminism is Cancer"

Feminism, the thing that gave women the right to be actual human beings, equated to cancer, the disease that kills people slowly. This all topped off with the "Make America Great Again" hat. Must I say more?

The Mexican Under Arrest

They posed and everything.

Leslie Jones Cut-out

Honestly, this is just flat out mean. Before this picture Milo was photographed writing "Dude" and drawing the arrow to Leslie Jone's face. To further humiliate a women who was wrongfully chased off of social media is a new low.

Because this gathering did not become nearly as rowdy as the last one, I think we can expect more visits from Milo Yiannopolos in the future, unless some online petitions or promotional sabotage can stop him next time.

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

For the average 20-something, life moves pretty fast. You’ve got classes, friends, relationships, jobs, family, and whatever else we overcommit ourselves with. I probably should have learned to say no to adding more to my schedule a long time ago, but instead here are 11 things that can be more helpful than coffee.

Blair Waldorf

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
