What Is The Rush?
All Great Quotes

The present is taken advantage of on a daily basis constantly by our society. We simply rush through everyday, waiting and wanting for something better to come along, never stopping to just appreciate the day we were given. For to us, it is just another boring day with nothing interesting, or news worthy, but to others, everyday is a gift. The ones who appreciate everyday have a unique perspective of life, many have a reality of knowing that their days are numbered. For the healthy humans of our society, they are constantly rushing through every moment, thinking it is a pointless waste of time, not realizing a moment can become a memory. We constantly take advantage of being able to start a new day, but if we take that for granted, then what else do we not appreciate as well? We move through the motions day by day, but we never just stop and take it all in. “ As you waste your breath complaining about life, someone out there is breathing their last breath. Appreciate what you have.”(Unknown)

The ones in our lives that are always their for us, no matter what, thinking that they are never just going to stop being your comfort of background noise; the thought of being able to call them and just hear their voice knowing that they will always be on the other end for you is a gift. A gift that we never just stop and say, thank you for being you,and for being my person or just always being around because I need you. “Too many people get caught up in what could be instead of appreciating what is. Don’t fall into that trap. Appreciate what you have and who you have, because the future can take it all away from you at anytime.”(idelhearts.com)

If you were told that a future of forever was not possible for you, would you change your view of the world, and how you deal with it? Would you appreciate the days and the people you have more, knowing that there is a day when you will not be around, but they still will be? Most people want their lives to matter, to mean something, they do not want to think that everything they accomplished in this world was for nothing, they want to know that a legacy will be left behind in their memory.

The saying goes, you do not know what you have until it is gone. We think that the people in our lives will always be there, and that we are protected from all the bad things that happen to us because we are young and stupid at times, but we are really just fooling ourselves. Accept and appreciate what you have, for you never know when the last day of sunshine, rain, the last hello, goodbye, and I love you will come. Life can be boring and so predictable, until the day that the universe decides to change everything you thought you knew to everything that was. When that day comes, will you have appreciated everything life had to offer you?

10 Truths About Being In A Sorority

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.
