What The Crap, Carson?

Endorsing Donald Trump, Really?

What The Crap, Carson?

The political future in America just seems to be getting dimmer and dimmer. Donald Trump is leading in the republican primaries and Hillary Clinton is leading in the democratic primaries. If these two are the options in the general election don't count on seeing me at the polls. It's very frustrating because I was excited about voting for the first time ever, and now I couldn't be more apathetic.

I had hope for politics in this nation seeing a man like Ben Carson enter the race. A respectable guy with a calm cool and collected demeanor and great plans to help prosper America. His whole reason for running was because a large group of people said he should. He wasn't even interested in politics, but the people convinced him. So he ran for the highest office in the land. While he was running he stuck to his morals and was never crass or crude like some other candidates (cough cough Donald Trump). He stuck to the idea of serving "we the people" rather than "we the political pundits". And somewhat sadly he sticks to that today by endorsing Donald Trump for president. you can watch his press conference about it here

When I saw this news my heart sank and it made a rainy Friday even worse. It was as if the dreariness of the day was a reflection of how I was feeling inside. I thought surely this wasn't true! This man of integrity, honor, and just a pure love for the USA was endorsing someone who doesn't seem to have much of those three characteristics. I was truly heartbroken. Then I really listened to what he said in the press conference.

His whole reason for running was because he wanted to represent "we the people". In his email to supporters he promised to keep fighting for "we the people" even though his presidential fight was over. Look at who has the most support from the people, and who is leading in the primaries. It's Donald Trump. Now as rough as he looks on the outside there are smart people who are supporting the guy, and in his speech Carson said that he and Trump had a lot more in common than previously thought, and that there was more to the man than the way the media portrayed him. He made an appeal to the people to stop playing the political games and be real in there choice. So even with the endorsement of the Donald I can still respect and admire his accomplishments and dedication to "we the people".

Time will only tell if this was a wise move or political suicide for him. Even if it is political suicide don't discount the man that Ben Carson is and always will be: A man dedicated to God, his family, and "we the people".

Thank you for running and being awesome, Mr. Carson.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
