What I'm Thankful For

Thank you, 2016.

What I'm Thankful For
Food Network

Obviously, I'm thankful for things like my family, friends, boyfriend, dog, good health, and the roof over my head. But this year I want to make a list that's specific to 2016. In no specific order:

1. Harambe.

Everyone knows Harambe, and he has been an internet sensation for months now.

2. Bernie Sanders.

Although he wasn't the candidate and therefore didn't become the next president, this man has inspired so many young people to vote and bond over how great he is.

3. Corn dogs.

They're just great.

4. Finding Dory.

I waited thirteen years for this to happen, and it finally did and it was adorable.

5. The Chicago Cubs.

After 108 years it finally happened. I might not be the biggest Cubs fan, but it was great to see Chicago so happy, and for so many people to be brought together.

6. Spongegar.

These memes had their hysterical way onto the internet this year.

7. Hotline Bling.

Not only was it catchy, but we got some pretty great memes from it too.

8. Dat boi.

9. Otters.

They're just adorable.

10. Food videos on Facebook.

I don't know why this started, but I'm so happy it did.

11. Stranger Things.

OBSESSED.

12. Spicy boys.

Soon enough, fire ants will officially be called spicy boys. Anything can happen in 2016.

13. President Obama.

It's his last year as president, and I'm going to miss him so much. He's probably the coolest president we've had.

14. Kanye on Twitter.

Watching Kanye rant and express his thoughts on Twitter is just hilarious.

15. Ken Bone.

While half of the people were focused on the presidential debate, the other half were focused on Ken Bone, who immediately became another internet sensation. Love the sweater, dude.

So that is what I'm thankful for in 2016. I'm sure 2017 will bring even more outrageous things to be thankful for.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a music major is not all kicks and giggles. In fact, there are days when I question my sanity and doubt myself as a musician. I know I am not the only one going through the struggle, and so here are 13 GIFs that I know my fellow music majors can relate to...
