What Oddly Specific Back To School Item are You?

Based on your zodiac sign, of course.

School is starting again, and it is time to repack those backpacks and (finally!) get back to in-person classes. Naturally, this could only call for one thing: overly identifying with bizarre objects because of your zodiac sign. But hey, it's written in the stars!

Aries (March 21 - April 19): A notebook with every subject in it

https://pin.it/5KBxP1j

Aries, you are bold and move quickly, which is exactly why you would be an every-subject notebook. And not the type with the neat, sectioned pages. No, you're simply a notebook where every other page has a different subject because you can't be bothered to flip through multiple notebooks in your bag to find the right one for each class. Just like you, this notebook is fun, aggressive, and your own style.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20): Reusable coffee cup

Taurus are one of those cute cups from Target you put your coffee in every morning. They are grounded, stable, and stubborn, so giving them caffeine may help them go back to school. Plus, as an earth sign, the reusability of the cup will suit them well: it's sustainable, consistent, and makes an impact.

Gemini (May 21 - June 21): Multi-color pen

Gemini's are the life of the party, and as the twin sign, you never know what you're going to get. Naturally, this calls for one of those multi-color pens in one. You know the ones, same pens, different colors - just like Geminis' tendency to act like the same person with different vibes. Fun and adaptable, the multi-color pen is quintessentially Gemini.

Cancer (June 22- July 22): Fun-shaped stress ball

Emotional cancers deserve something to take the stress out of their lives (aside from crying, of course). Cancers are nurturing and sensitive, so having a fun stress ball will let them feel as if they have a little friend to take care of while also allowing it to serve as some much-needed emotional relief. Plus, they will definitely name it.

Leo (July 23 - August 22): Coordinated laptop stickers

The Great Debate: To Sticker Or Not To Sticker My Laptop

https://www.theodysseyonline.com/sticker-your-laptop

Confident Leos deserve something as aesthetic and notable as they are, so of course, they must be cute and impressionable laptop stickers. Attention-grabbing and fun, the bright stickers on people's laptops radiate Leo energy, especially since the ability to use a sticker on something not permanent is a bold trait, just like Leos.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): The stickers at the front of a planner

https://pin.it/6lVKvy6

Keeping with the sticker theme but in the entirely opposite direction, Virgos are the cute organizational stickers at the front of a planner. They are organized and productive, just like Virgos, but they are also rarely ever used. Perfectionist Virgos couldn't bear wasting a sticker on the wrong page or putting one in the wrong place, so these super cute, organized, and never used stickers are the perfect representation.

Libra (September 23 - October 22): Pastel colored highlighters

4. Highlighters

Libras are sociable and fun, drawing just enough attention to themselves. They are the essence of a fun-colored highlighter because Libras don't want to step on other people's toes; they just add a little pizzazz to the situation. Just like a highlighter doesn't cover up the words, only amplifies them, Libras emphasize fairness and balance, building up those around them.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21): Backpack with zero organization

http://www.mpsaz.org/~jordan/information/lostandfound/

Mysterious Scorpios are passionate and intense, so they would naturally be a backpack with zero organization. You never know what you'll find or what you'll pull out of its depths, but everything you need is definitely in there. Like Scorpios, who always seem to know others' secrets, only the messy backpack itself truly knows what's going on inside, the perfect example of secretive Scorpios.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21): Lost glitter pen

5. Muji Colored Gel Penshttps://www.amazon.com/Muji-Ballpoint-Pens-0-38mm-10-colors/dp/B0711FGK96/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1537886263&sr=8-14&keywords=muji

The optimistic life of the party Sagittarius could only be a glitter pen: attention-grabbing and asking to be noticed. However, much like the free nature of a Sagittarius, they are a glitter pen that cannot be found. Lost to the world and off on its own. Sagittarius are not known for sticking around, so a lost sparkly pen is the perfect representation.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19): Wooden pencil that's half its original size

https://www.shutterstock.com/search/old+pencil

No one works hard like a Capricorn, so the classic wooden pencil is the essence of a Capricorn. Disciplined and steady, they're a pencil that's been sharpened many times and still has not lost its purpose. In fact, like strong Capricorns, as the pencil gets shorter and shorter, it just gets less likely to break, encapsulating Capricorns' never-give-up mentality.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18): Eraser with pencil holes poked in it

The elementary school classic, a pink rubber eraser full of tiny holes from pencil stabbings. Aquarius is hardworking and organized, like the eraser, but suffers from severe main character syndrome, with their need to set themselves apart. Thus, the hole-filled eraser is the perfect back-to-school item for them, allowing them to be both functional and mysterious.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20): Homemade bullet journal

Bullet Journaling For The Unorganized Student

Creative, emotional Pisces must be one of those enviably cute homemade bullet journals. You know the ones that are perfectly tailored to whoever made them, and while being super cute, are actually a bit of work to keep up with every day? They're unique and creative, and nothing could say back to school in a more Pisces fashion.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Economic Benefits of Higher Wages

Nobody deserves to be living in poverty.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
