To My Older Sister Who Doesn't Know I'll Never Stop Needing Her

Dear sister,

You're there when no one else is, you care when no one else does, you help me when no one else wants to. And for this, I will forever be grateful for you and your presence in my life. Of course, we fight and we don't see eye to eye on everything but your always on my side when it comes down to it. I run to you with all of my problems and you take them on as if they were yours, you've helped me through it all sis.

Having someone you can rely on no matter what means you'll never be alone, and I know with you by my side I never will be. Mom always said we'll never need any guy or friend because we got each other like no other!

We're obligated to be siblings but I would love for you to know that I'd pick you as a friend with no hesitation!

I promise to never forget everything you've sacrificed just to make sure I'm content and carefree. I promise to never take you for granted and to always make sure you know you're the greatest friend I could ever ask for. I can name countless times you've chosen to be there, of course, you had a choice - me or your friends - you've always chosen me with no hesitation and sometimes it goes unnoticed but when I really sit back and think about it I realize you're there for every major moment in my life. Job interviews, first days of school, first time driving, boyfriend problems, girl issues. I run to you for everything and it's because I know you will always help me and tell me the (sometimes brutal) truth. I know if I ever mess up you'll still support me and never make me feel less than what I am worth.

Everything is easier with you, I truly wish I could've stuffed you in a bag and brought you to college with me. But you also taught me that I can be independent and that I'm strong enough to do anything on my own. You always have faith in me. I can't wait to accomplish what I'm truly capable of because I know you'll be there see me at the finish line. You're my biggest fan and I'll forever be yours.

I need you like a heart needs a beat, like a fat kid needs a cake, like infinity needs no end. You're irreplaceable in so many ways, I hope one day you realize I'll never stop needing my big sister. Life is a long hard fight but knowing you'll be there to pick me up every time I fall makes every day a little more carefree for me. No matter who comes into our lives as we grow you'll always be my go-to girl, I'm glad I can say my sister is also my bestie for the restie.

Sincerely,

Your little sister xoxo.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
