March is known as Women's History Month, where we celebrate many achievements of what brave and courageous women before us and with us did throughout their lives. We also appreciate the ideas, culture, and contributions of many notable and ordinary girls in our lives, making us live better as time progresses. This poetry is a recognition of the many girls in our lives who make life meaning and make this Earth a better place.

The beauty of your eyes

are not what your beholder sees.

The sweetness of your voice

is not what they hear.

It's the courage you bring into their heart

when times go rough.

It's the happiness you flow out to the world

that they relish within.

You are not just any girl

but a strong, empathetic, and powerful young woman

It takes a lot of grit and gut to be you

but trust me it's worth every bit

This so-called "society"

is built on beating us down.

However, it's up to us

whether we let it.

You hold these values deep in your heart:

love, grace, strength, and truth.

Because you know that,

this is what a girl is made of.
